PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENTS

For School and Learning

I offer psychoeducational assessments that help us understand how a person thinks and learns. These assessments can identify learning differences, ADHD, giftedness, or a combination of these factors that might be affecting academic success.

When school feels unnecessarily difficult or when exceptional abilities aren't being properly challenged, frustration naturally follows. A thoughtful assessment can provide answers and direction.

Together, we'll uncover a unique learning profile with both strengths to leverage and challenges to address. This understanding leads to practical strategies and appropriate accommodations that work in real classrooms and workplaces.

Available for children, teens, and adults these assessments are thorough yet comfortable. You'll walk away with concrete steps to move forward with confidence.

LEARNING CHALLENGES

For struggles at school and delays in learning and development.

ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY

GIFTEDNESS

For complex, abstract thinking and abilities that don’t match their peers.

ASSESSMENTS FOR

Learning Challenges

A psychoeducational assessment for learning challenges helps uncover why a person may be struggling at school, and what supports will best meet their needs. Some people face difficulties with reading, writing, math, memory, or attention; not because they aren’t trying, but because their brain processes information differently. These challenges can lead to frustration, lowered confidence, and misunderstandings at school, at work and at home. A comprehensive assessment looks at a person’s intellectual abilities, academic skills, and emotional and social functioning, offering a full picture of how they learn and where they may need support.

When approached with care and clarity, this kind of assessment not only helps explain a person’s struggles but also affirms their strengths. With this understanding, individuals, families and educators can create more effective learning environments, reduce overwhelm, and foster a sense of confidence and capability in the person.

ASSESSMENTS FOR

ADHD

An ADHD assessment helps determine whether a child, youth or adult is experiencing symptoms of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and how those symptoms are showing up in day-to-day life. ADHD can impact focus, impulse control, and energy levels, often in ways that impact school, relationships, and a person’s confidence. But no two individuals experience ADHD the same way, and it’s not always obvious from the outside. That’s why a thorough, individualized assessment is so important.

By understanding how ADHD shows up, we can identify practical strategies and supports that help the person feel more in control, more understood, and more equipped to succeed. Whether it’s adjusting the learning environment or offering tools for managing daily challenges, the goal is to provide clarity and confidence.

ASSESSMENTS FOR

Giftedness

Giftedness assessments help determine whether a child or adolescent shows advanced intellectual or creative abilities compared to their same-age peers. Gifted children often think in complex, abstract ways, and that can come with its own set of challenges. While their abilities may stand out, they may also experience heightened emotions, feel out of step socially, or become disengaged in typical learning environments. Without proper recognition and support, these children can sometimes be misunderstood or overlooked.

Identifying giftedness isn’t about labeling; it’s about understanding a child’s strengths so they can be supported in ways that match how they think, learn, and feel. Gifted learners present with a unique social, emotional, and behavioural profile which requires individualized support. A thoughtful assessment can open the door to more meaningful learning opportunities, increased self-awareness, and the confidence to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
